The recent so-called “revolution” in Bangladesh has quickly descended into chaos—nothing short of a tragicomedy. What initially appeared to be a groundbreaking movement has now, under the weight of threats and reality, collapsed into utter farce. The self-proclaimed leaders of this “new revolution” have turned into “I-am-what-I-am” loudmouths, leaving the nation bewildered and disappointed.
What is most painful is the insult hurled at the actual national heroes. The very freedom fighters who shed their blood for Bangladesh’s independence are being humiliated, their contributions undermined, and their legacies distorted. This attempt to rewrite history is not only an attack on truth but also a betrayal of the nation’s very foundation.
Equally alarming is the incitement of extremism. Instead of instilling democratic values in the youth, seeds of hatred and division are being sown. Social harmony is being pushed into exile, while religious tolerance is being replaced by hostility. Even the sacred, universal meeting grounds of the nation—the shrines and spiritual centers—are now under threat of demolition by these reckless actors, who see religion as nothing but a tool of political manipulation.
Perhaps the most dangerous signal is the rekindling of ties with the very forces we once fought against—the Paikka mindset and the Pakistani collaborators. Fifty years ago, millions sacrificed their lives to break free from Pakistani oppression. Today, some so-called revolutionaries shamelessly seek to “sleep in the same bed” again with those who once exploited and slaughtered us. This is not just a historical betrayal—it is a direct threat to Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty.
This so-called revolution is no revolution at all. It is a masquerade. It carries no vision for national progress, no promise of a brighter future—only cheap populism, hypocrisy, extremism, and conspiracy. The question now is: will we allow ourselves to slip back into that dark abyss of history, or will we remain vigilant and safeguard the spirit of our true independence?
বাংলাদেশের সাম্প্রতিক তথাকথিত “বিপ্লব” আসলে যেন এক নাট্যমঞ্চের হাস্যকর দৃশ্য। শুরুতে মনে হয়েছিল যুগান্তকারী আন্দোলন শুরু হয়েছে—কিন্তু হঠাৎ করেই হুমকি আর বাস্তবতার চাপে সবকিছু লেজে গোবরে একাকার হয়ে গেল। নতুন বিপ্লবের হোতারা নিজেদের “আমি কি হনুরে” ধাঁচের রাজনীতিবিদ বা ছাত্রনেতা হিসেবে চিৎকার জুড়ে দিলেও, তাদের পদক্ষেপ ও আচরণ জাতিকে প্রশ্নের মুখে ফেলেছে।
সবচেয়ে দুঃখজনক হলো, স্বাধীনতার প্রকৃত জাতীয় বীরদের অবমাননা করা। যাদের আত্মত্যাগের বিনিময়ে আমরা আজ স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশ পেয়েছি, সেই মুক্তিযোদ্ধাদের স্মৃতি কলঙ্কিত করার প্রয়াস চলছে। ইতিহাস বিকৃত করে, শহীদদের অবদান হ্রাস করে এবং প্রজন্মকে ভুল পথে ধাবিত করার অপচেষ্টা চলছে প্রকাশ্যে।
তার চেয়েও বিপজ্জনক হলো উগ্রবাদের উসকানি। তরুণদের হাতে পতাকা তুলে দিয়ে গণতান্ত্রিক আদর্শের পরিবর্তে ঘৃণার বীজ বপন করা হচ্ছে। সামাজিক সম্প্রীতি নির্বাসনে চলে যাচ্ছে, আর ধর্মীয় সহনশীলতার জায়গায় গড়ে উঠছে বিভাজন আর শত্রুতা। জাতির প্রিয় সার্বজনীন মিলনস্থল—মাজার ও আধ্যাত্মিক কেন্দ্রগুলোর বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র চলছে। এগুলো ভাঙচুর করার পায়তারা চলছে যেন ধর্মকে রাজনৈতিক অস্ত্র বানানোর নোংরা খেলায় পরিণত করা হয়।
সবচেয়ে ভয়ঙ্কর ইঙ্গিত হলো—পাইক্কাদের (অর্থাৎ পাকিস্তানি মানসিকতা বহনকারীদের) সাথে পুনরায় একই বিছানায় শোওয়ার মতো ঘনিষ্ঠতা তৈরি হওয়া। মুক্তিযুদ্ধে যে পাকিস্তানি শাসকগোষ্ঠীর হাত থেকে মুক্ত হতে লাখো প্রাণ উৎসর্গ হয়েছিল, আজ তাদের এজেন্টদের সাথেই “ভাই ভাই” হয়ে উঠতে চাওয়ার প্রবণতা দেখা যাচ্ছে। এটি কেবল ইতিহাসের প্রতি বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা নয়, বরং বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা ও সার্বভৌমত্বের ভিত্তির উপর সরাসরি আঘাত।
এই তথাকথিত বিপ্লব আসলে বিপ্লব নয়—এটি এক প্রহসন। এখানে নেই জাতীয় উন্নয়ন, নেই নতুন দিগন্ত উন্মোচনের অঙ্গীকার। আছে শুধু সস্তা জনপ্রিয়তা, ভণ্ডামি, উগ্রবাদ আর ষড়যন্ত্র। প্রশ্ন হলো—আমরা কি আবার ইতিহাসের সেই অন্ধকার গহ্বরে ফিরে যাব? নাকি সজাগ হয়ে প্রকৃত স্বাধীনতার চেতনাকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখব?
